This kid today, maybe 20 years old? works a lot of hours, telling me how tired he gets. He pulls out some knockoff "yellow jackets" for his pockets, aka super caffiene. Like 300 mg each.
So, I wonder, in the name of art, of doing a project based on caffiene. It would sure be interesting, with my struggle to stay awake. Hmmm. I never know about this experiments for art projects. So controversial. And possibly dangerous.

Seriously, can you make pieces you don't like, why would you, or do other people just have to like it, or does that make us a sell out. But if we just make art we like and not care what other people like, does that just make us a closet wanker.

Flying saucers

Sometime today, my room mate used his problem solving skills to silence some beeping smoke detectors. One in each hand, he chucked them into our yard. And about midnight, a beeping that we couldn't find woke us all up. Except him. We searched. And about the time we pinpointed it to OUTSIDE, he came around. "Oh, there's some smoke detectors out there." One flashlight between all of us, we found them.

There are fruit flies everywhere. I took out the trash, did the dishes, sanatized the hell out of everything, threw out the glass of wine they loved,

AND THEY WONT GO AWAY.

I put some vinegar in a dish, covered it in suranwrap and poked holes in it. It only captured 10. There's at least a hundred more.

Starbucks

Everyone and their mother (literally) pays me in Starbucks cards. This week alone I banked 50 bucks. In a good months, I could get more than 200 dollars.
I really loved Starbucks and would go almost daily. Then I got a job that gave me a paid tab there to just hang out every day (to try to meet people their for our business).
Then I started doing a lot of volunteer work, not wanting pay. So I'd tell people to just give me a coffee. Somehow it lost translation in their minds. Seriously, I just finished house sitting, got a 25 buck card. And did a lot of yard work for an old lady, got another 25 buck card.
I hate getting them for christmas and birthday, because everyone sends me one. Can't I just get a tie or some socks like everyone else?
All this to say, they've ruined my taste of coffee. I'm going to just save them and regift them. I can't go to Starbucks anymore, I'm sorry. You ruined my favorite thing in the world. All because I was a nice person and didn't want to take your money.

My grandfather said my name today for the first time in a year. "Well, hi so-and-so! How have you been lately?" He has Alzheimer's, and until today, I thought he'd forgotten me a year ago.

Hard decision there. I've been working so much in rubber and plaster, but I really enjoy found objects and supergluing them. Why the hell a marker? I can't figure that one out. Somehow it went with this "found object art", like I'd be able to label it.
And beer and tunes was a reality check. I don't think I've been in my studio without listening to something. Although I could forgo the booze, I really really want the music.

Rise up

I was told today by an old friend that instead of beating the system, I should join with it and work it and taylor myself to survive within it.

I just think there are moments that call for us to key the guys car instead of filing for sex harassment.

I only see movies on rare occasions anymore. They are usually ones that I already know the background to (such as book to screens) or ones I've waited forever to come out (pirates of the caribbean).
Mostly because I just pyrit the rest.
But about once a year, around the 3rd week of September, I just choose one and go.

So I'm choosing "Burn After Reading". I'm thinking it'll be ResivourDog-esc, without the Tarantino factor, if you know what I mean.

Seriously, there are a LOT of people that watch Resivour Dogs and just don't like it. Or get it. But if you knew the director's style, you'd LOVE the movie, because it's so him.

Today I bought AAA rechargeable batteries.
They cost me 4 times the amount as one time use AAA batteries.

Don't eat off the floor

I swept my studio today. The first time in 3 months.
Then I made a collage of it.
It was gross. But, it's not like I eat off it, right? Or set anything on it. I use tables.

Which brings me to the question: should a studio be clean? Does it matter, if no one else sees it? Or is it one of those fungshua things, that you work better in order?
